Uganda Baati initiates “Score a tree campaign” in the National Hockey League.

Uganda Baati, in partnership with Uganda Hockey League yesterday 6th, September 2022 launched a campaign called score a tree campaign.

This is aimed at raising the most talented sportsmen and women in hockey as well as combating climate change through environmental conservation and encouraging the sports champs to score goals.

Uganda Baati, a member of the Safal group, is a longstanding partner of the Uganda Hockey League and has sponsored the league since 2018.

During a press release yesterday in Kampala, the two partners announced the initiative to the public with gratefulness and delight.

“We are blessed to be given an opportunity to contribute to combating climate change, through environmental conservation efforts under the programs of Uganda Baati and encourage the athletes to score beyond their own abilities to see to it that we plant as many trees as practically possible,’’ said George Arodi, Business Head Uganda Baati.

Under this score a tree program, a tree will be planted for each goal scored in the league throughout the course of the season, in the 5 hectares piece of land within Mabira already identified by the National Forestry Authority.

 Philip Wafula, Uganda Hockey President 

Uganda Hockey president Philip Wafula thanked Uganda Baati for its continued support and commitment towards the sponsorship of hockey events.

“We are grateful for the continued support of Uganda Baati to our efforts to keep developing the sport in Uganda,” said the president.

He further stated that it’s this historical partnership whose products made history by representing the country at the Africa Cup of Nations in Accra Ghana this year.
