Uganda Cranes have been seeded in the AFCON for next year.

CAF has controversially included the Uganda Cranes in next year’s AFCON in Cameroun.

The Cranes were put in pot A along side defending champions Algeria. Other teams in pot A include Egypt, DRC, Nigeria, Cameroun, Morocco, and Tunisia.

This latest development comes after FUFA’s petition on the way the team was treated in Malawi was considered. Resultantly, Malawi was disqualified by CAF and Uganda given it’s qualification place.

It is remembered that Malawi came out with last minute COVID-19 positive results for a number of individuals on the Uganda Cranes contingent that traveled to the countries Capital, Blantyre for the last group game that the host nation won a goal to nil against Uganda.

The results singled out Moses Waiswa, Denis Onyango, and Tadeo Lwanga with positive results.
