The most recent FIFA World Rankings, which were issued on December 22, show no change for the Uganda Men’s National Football Team- Uganda Cranes.
The Cranes are still at 89th place, where they were when the most recent rankings were announced on October 6th.
Being inert was expected given that Uganda didn’t participate in the just finished FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Since their qualifying for the Africa Nations Championship versus Tanzania, the Cranes have also been absent from competitive play for a few months.
Uganda continues to rank 18th among African nations and is the best-ranked in the CECAFA area, followed by Kenya (101)
Morocco, who advanced to the semifinals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, moved up 12 spots in the rankings to land at number 11 in the world, making them the highest-ranked country in Africa.
Argentina climbs up to second place in the world after winning the World Cup, trailing only Brazil, which stays at the top.
Croatia moves up the most spots in the top 10, moving up from 12th to seventh.
