Uganda Cranes to charter Bombardier to Malawi for final AFCON qualifier

FUFA communications director Ahmed Hussein confirmed today 23rd march 2021 that the national soccer team the Cranes will fly to Malawi for their final group game using a chartered plane.

This latest development comes barely less than 24 hours before the cranes battle Burkina Faso in the last home game of the AFCON qualifiers.

A statement from FUFA read “the team will fly out on 28th March 2021 aboard Uganda Airlines Bombardier. It is important for the National team to travel with a lot of comfort during the current COVID -19 times when you need the entire team to move together for better preparations.”

Meanwhile Uganda cranes assistant coach Abdallah Mubiru is confident that the team will get a positive result in the encounter against Burkina Faso.

Speaking to the Media after the cranes’ final practice session, Mubiru was quick to point out the importance of the game and what it means to the country.
