FUFA has announced dates for the Uganda Cup round of 16 ties. Both legs will be played between 1st to 6th May, 2021.
The postponed fixture between Kitara FC and Kigezi Homeboyz has also been given a date. At the Round of 32, 15 of 16 games were played, with the Kitara FC Vs Kigezi game postponed.
The first leg was not honored after poor communication about the match-day venue. FUFA has since rescheduled the first leg to April 29. The second leg of the fixture at Mbale Municipal stadium has not been confirmed
All teams who qualified for the round of 16 are already guaranteed a minimum of Sh3m each as prize money from Cup sponsors. The winner of the final which will be played on July 24 at a yet to be named venue, will take home Sh50m.
It should be noted that this year’s Cup is competed for by only UPL and Big League clubs. The tournament is being played on a home and away basis until the final.
