Maroons FC is standing in the way for KCCA’s hopes of winning any trophy this season as the two teams face each other today in the Uganda Cup at Luzira Prisons Grounds at 3:30pm. With the league title probably out of reach for KCCA FC, their real chance of winning silverware this season remains only in the Uganda Cup.

With Maroons relegated last season and now playing in the big league, many would expect this clash to be a routine win for KCCA, but as football has served us right over the years, no win is routine and the Kasasiro boys should bear that at the back of their mind when they face maroons today. Morley Byekwaso’s side come into this fixture on the back of a disappointing 2 – 0 home defeat to Bright Stars in the League and they will be looking forward to putting behind their loss and gain a first-leg advantage in this game.

We expect coach Morley Byekwaso to start with a similar squad that lost to Bright Stars on thursday and even though they remain favorites to beat the struggling maroon side, their in-form strikers Sadat Anaku and Charles Lwanga need to portray match sharpness in order to send their sides to the next round.

Meanwhile, Maroons FC will be hoping that the experience of Fred Amaku, Ronald Orombi, and Pius Obuya among others, will be enough to give them the first-leg advantage against the Kasasiro boys.

Other Sunday fixtures will see the following clubs tussle with each other today

Wakiso Giants vs Tooro United – Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium 4:00pm

Police Vs Soltilo Bright Stars – MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo3:30pm

Stay on for all the results as they come in by 6 pm today.
