Defending champions of the Uganda Cup, Proline FC are set to go through to the round of 16 after a convincing 4-1 victory against MYDA at the Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

Three first half strikes from Kiwanuka Hakim, Brian Umony (penalty) and Kizza Hamisi were enough to put the Lugogo based club in a comfort zone before singer Bebe cool’s son Alpha SSali Thierry came on for Brian Umony to put the fixture to rest in the 87th minute.

URA FC were held to a goalless draw at the Arena of Vision by Mbarara FC in the first leg of the round 16. URA had much of the possession but a resilient Mbarara side was ready to answer all the questions.

1999 champions Mbale Heroes who are winless in the Big League this season lost 0-1 away to Gadaffi FC in Jinja. Joel Madondo’s 26th minute penalty was enough to put the Jinja based club ahead of Sunday’s return leg at Mbale Municipal Stadium.

In Kyaggwe, Express FC came from behind to get two away vital goals as they were held 2-2 by Kyetume. Erick Kambale scored the all-important goal in the 76th minute for Express from a cross by skipper Enock Walusimbi. Kyetume got an early lead through Kaye Ezra’s header in the 6th minute but John Byabakama equalized in the 23rd minute before Raymond Walugembe regained Kyetume’s lead.

In Mbale, a 16th minute strike was enough for Kataka FC to go into the return leg with a 1-0 lead against Tooro United.
