KCCA were yesterday up against Mbarara side Nyamityobora in the Uganda Cup, round of 32 tie at the MTN-Omondi Stadium, Lugogo. The tax collectors secured a 4-2 win in Morley Byekwaso’s second game as the new manager.
Midfielder Bright Anukani gave his side an early lead in the 3rd minute with a curling effort that left the goalkeeper for dead. Poloto who just recovered from injury made it 2:0 for the home side, with his second goal in two matches.
Nyamityobora’s Clinton Kamugisha responded by pulling one back midway through the first half making it 2:1, before on form Sadat Anaku scored the third goal for KCCA FC to make it 3-1 going into the halftime break.
The second half started with visitors looking bright and daring to go, as Clinton Kamugisha scored his second of the day to give his team a fighting chance. But it was KCCA second half substitute Sam Ssenyonjo who scored in the 85th minute put the game away from Nyamityobora FC.
The second leg will be played in Mbarara with the home side needing at least a 2:0 score line to progress to the round of 16.
