With new sponsors on board, this year’s Uganda Cup prize tournament prize has been increased from UGX132M to UGX 166M.
The overall winners this year will be walking away with UGX 50M, up from the UGX 30M received in the previous campaign.
The losing finalists will walk away with UGX 20M.
The round of 32 will see participating teams walk away with UGX 1.5M each while the teams that qualify for the last 16 will walk away with UGX 3M each.
The quarter finalists will be in position to walk away with UGX 6M while the semi finalist each will walk away with 12M.
You will think that the COVID-19 pandemic did not come with any benefit, but a reduced number of participants due to SOP regulations may have had a role to play in the increase in individual share for participants.
Stanbic Bank will be joined by Kansai Plascon Uganda on the sponsors bench. Very likely that the reduced advertising space, again due to the Covid-19 pandemic, had a role in this as well.
For the fans, let us enjoy the games!
