Uganda Hockey Association has announced the suspension of the league until further notice. This comes in response to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s directive to suspend all sports activities within the country.
The league was entering into game week seven this weekend where four matches were on the cards. “Following the 18th June 2021 Presidential Address suspending all sporting activities, for the next 42 days, Uganda Hockey wishes to announce postponement of all National League games,” read the statement from the Uganda Hockey Association.
The association promised to give further guidance on how to proceed when the suspension is lifted.
Before the suspension, Kampala Hockey Club was leading the men’s standings with 18 points while Wannanchi were leading the ladies’ category with 9 points.
