Kawempe Muslim Women lost their place in the final thanks to a 1-0 goal scored by Reticia Nabbosa at FUFA Technical center Njeru in the semifinal. And today it was no different as they missed on a 3rd place finish thanks to a 2-1 defeat by Uganda Martyrs women, who also lost their place in the finals of this year’s women super league to UCU cardinals.
The two teams were up against each other today in the clash for the 3rd place spot, as they built up for the final between Lady Doves and UCU Cardinals later today.
The first period of this game saw Kawempe Muslim Ladies score an early goal in the 21st minute to end the first 45 minutes on top with a 1-0 lead going into halftime.
But in the second period of the game, things changed for the worse as the women from Kawempe Conceded an equalizer in the 62nd minute thanks to the resiliency of the Uganda Martyrs ladies. With only 30 minute left to play for, the two teams kept asking questions from time to time as they looked for the deciding goal in this game. But it was in the 82nd minute that the Uganda Martyrs ladies got their long awaited goal that deservedly gave them the third spot in this year’s FUFA Women Super League competitions.
And for the second time in a row Juliet Nalukenge failed to drag her team out of the mud ever since returning from her A level Examination duties, but at full time whistle, it finished 1-2 in favor of the Uganda Martyrs women.
