Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Beach Soccer Club are the champions of the second edition of the End of Year Women Beach Soccer Festival 2022.

Uganda Martyrs has won the title back to back after winning the inaugural tournament last year.

It was a repeat of last edition’s final where both teams Uganda Martyrs and Nansana Ladies met in the final and the former emerged the champions.

Uganda Martyrs Lubaga BSC topped group A with maximum points from three games and went ahead to win the title after a 5-3 win against Nansana Ladies BSC.

Fatuma Nakasumba’ s brace and Catherine Nagadya’s hat-trick were enough to seal the title. Nansana Ladies got their consolation goals from Justin Najjuko, Cissy Nantongo and Stella Namisango.

Uganda Martyrs Lubaga had earlier edged Gomba Ladies BSC by 6-3 to qualify to the finals courtesy of Catherine Nagadya who scored four goals, Fatuma Nakasumba and Nabirah Nakitto with the remaining goals. Shamsa Najjuma’ s hat-trick was not enough for Gomba Ladies BSC to survive red hot Uganda Martyrs.

Nansana Ladies thrashed Kampala Junior Team BSC by 6-0 to reach the finals courtesy of Cissy Nantongo’s hat-trick, Catherine Nakiridde, Stella Namisango and Asmaa Mutumba’s own goal.

Nansana Ladies BSC also topped Group B with seven points from three games.
