Ugandan internationals weekend in action: Mukiibi and Lubega on target

Mustafa Kizza featured for 84 minutes for Montreal Impact as his side were held to a 1-1 draw by Nashville.

Elvis Bwomono played for a full 90 minutes for South End as they ran away 2-1 winners against Leyton Orient.

Kizito Luwaga got a yellow card but managed to hold on to play for a full 90 minutes in Hapoel Kfar Saba’s 1-0 home loss to Netanya. Hapoel Kfar Saba are heading for relegation after lying bottom of the table with a few games left.

Bevis Mugabi was an unused substitute as Motherwell were knocked out of the Scottish cup by Hibernian.

Tadeo Lwanga missed out on Simba’s 0-1 away win at Gwambina after the Ugandan midfielder had to come home to bury his deceased sister.


Ismail Watenga kept a clean sheet as Chippa United were held to a goalless draw at home against Golden Arrows in the South African Premier league. Chippa are second from the bottom with 19 points from 24 games.

Ronald Mukiibi scored an 80th minute equalizer to earn Ostersunds a 1-1 draw away to 2nd placed Malmo fc. The Ugandan defender who was at fault for Malmo’s goal rose high to head home the equalizer from a corner kick.

Alexis Bakka was an unused substitute for UMEA’s 1-0 home win against Haninge in the Swedish division 1.

Edrisa Lubega’s 12th minute strike into the bottom left corner from a pass from Filip Zorvan was enough for Pribram to seal victory away at Karvina in the Czech first division. His strike was the second within a space of less than a week.
