With the first half of the season a distant mile away, the Second round of the vitality Netball super league starts on Sunday at Studio 001 in Wakefield.
All eyes will be set on Uganda’s goal shooter Mary Cholhok Nuba. The South Sudan born Ugandan professional netballer who plays for 2nd placed Loughborough Lightning leads the goal scoring charts in the Vitality league with 439 goals from 11 appearances.
Her next competitor Joyce Mvula from Mali has 342 goals from a similar number of appearances.
Mary, a member of the she cranes netball team that played at the world netball world cup in England started her competitive netball career at Saint Mary’s high school where she represented the school in the national school championships from 2013 to 2016.
Her performances got the eye of NIC Netball club which she represented between 2017 and 2018. She got her national team debut during the 2018 world University games in Kampala where she was the leading scorer.
From there she was a frequent member of the netball national team and In 2019, she was included in the team that represented Uganda at the African netball championship.
Mary signed for Loughborough Lightning in 2018 and made her debut against the wasps in a league match in 2019. Her performances for Loughborough Lightning have seen her lead the scoring charts in the vitality league 1 in 2021.
This Sunday will see Mary continue her goal scoring performances when Loughborough Lightning play against the wasps.
