As stated by the Red Eagles boss, Bbosa yesterday in his pre match briefing, every game is now like a cup final for Express FC, and today they hosted the Saints with that belief which yielded output. The UPDF hasn’t looked like a real group in their past 5 encounters both in the league and the Uganda Cup, and today they came away to Express expecting to reverse their fate. But it wasn’t as they expected it as they started the first half slowly by succumbing to an early Erick Kambale Goal in the 22nd minute to finish the first half 1:0.

The second period opened with the Saints still looking more optimistic, as they tried to improve their chances of walking back home at least with a point in the game. But the Red Eagles, aware of their ambition this season made it impossible for them to get an equalizer in the game.

With Express looking more solid defensively, the away team needed to apply more pressure on the Red eagles’ defense but they did no such thing and failed to get the much needed equalizing goal that could have ended the tie 1:1.

Express with this win got the 3 points they needed to maintain their 3rd spot on the table, whereas UPDF remained 7th on the table on 33 points after 24 games played this season.
