Emotional Charles Livingstone Mbabazi (head coach) and midfielder Solomon Okwalinga who once served at Onduparaka before crossing over Mbarara City, today kept their cool and beat their former employers by 2:1 in Mbarara City.

Onduparaka made this long trip to Western Uganda to face Mbarara City after beating SC Villa in their last game and today they were hoping to get another one just like the one they had against Villa in Arua.

At the beginning of the first half, the visitors started the game looking like the better team, with the most important highlights of their performance being a missed penalty in the 42nd minute that could have put them forward going into halftime break. First half ended 0:0 between the two sides with everything left to play for during the second period.

The second half started with vigor and the two teams tried to exploit one another’s weaknesses to lead, and 15 minutes into the second half, Henry Kitegenyi put Mbarara City in front in the 60th minute as he made it 1:0. After 20 minutes of play, Onduparaka’s Living Kabon made it 1:1 with only 10 minutes remaining until the end of the second period. But it wasn’t going to stay like that at full time, as Bashir Mutanda utilized the added 7 minutes in the game to score the winning goal that gave his side a very crucial win today in Mbarara.

This win now placed them in the 10th position with 29 points and their opponent dropped to 12th  position after 24 games played now. Charles Livingstone Mbabazi (head coach) and midfielder Solomon Okwalinga once served at Onduparaka before switching allegiance.
