Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club, hosted UPDF in one of the two remaining Uganda Premier League matches at Ndejje University – Luwero. After faltering against Kyetume FC in their last Uganda Premier League match, URA needed to respond to UPDF to narrow the gap at the top of the table to only 1 point.

Stephen Mukwala’s return to scoring form for URA was very timely for them as they needed to win to move 57 points behind leaders Express FC who occupied the first position on 58 points. The Saints went down to a late first half opener in the 43rd minute by Stephen Mukwala which made the difference between the two sides going into halftime break.

In the second period, Alex Benzema Kitatta restored parity in the 47th minutes for the away team after just 2 minutes when he made it 1:1 with everything still left to play for. But his goal did not sit too well with Stephen Mukwala and his team who knew that if they conceded defeat, their title chances would be in jeopardy. The former Vipers and Maroons forward struck again in the 78th minute to give URA a 2:1 lead again in the match with 12 minutes plus added minute remaining until the end of second half. His two goals in the game took his tally of goals for the season to 14, two away from Vipers’ Yunus Sentamu.

URA with this win moved to 57 points, one away from the leaders Express with four games to play. The UPDF on the other hand suffered their 12th loss of the season putting them in the 10th position with 34 points, with 4 games remaining to play until the end of the season.
