At Kabaka Kyabaggu Sports Stadium in Wakiso today, Wakiso Giants hosted BUL FC who desperately needed a win to avoid being pegged back into the relegation zone his season. With 6 games remaining until the end of the season, clubs are looking for points to secure their top flight participation in the league next season.
But today it was a different experience for BUL FC who needed a win to bounce back to winning ways after going winless in their last five matches. Frank Ssebufu gave his side an early lead in the 13th minute to set the pace of the game with everything still left to play for both sides in the first period. With good defending exhibited in the game, the first period ended 1:0 in favor of BUL FC.
In the second half, Kitara FC main man Viane Ssekajugo doubled their lead in the 62nd minutes, before Joseph Ssemujju got one back for his team to make it 2:1 in the 77th minute. At 2:1 down, BUL FC threw everything they got in the game to try and level the game but Kitara FC with home advantage working in their favour managed to defend well and kept the game away from Wakiso Giants.
With this result, Wakiso Giants climb to 7th position in the league on 33 points above SC Villa and the UPDF who don’t play until tomorrow. Whereas BUL FC remains in the 12th position with 27 points only one above Busoga United who were beaten by Express 4:0 today in Jinja.
