Wakiso Giants of late have enjoyed a great run of form in the Uganda Premier League, with their most recent win coming against relegation candidate MYDA FC in Tororo. Today at 4PM, they will be up against inconsistent Police FC who have fallen from the top and now even risk dropping further down the league table to the 9th or 10th position. But today’s cup clash with Wakiso Giants at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso, could be the match that will uplift the Cops’ spirits as they hit the ground running with only 4 games remaining in the league this season.
Police FC eliminated Bright Stars FC in the round of 16 on 4:2 aggregate and their 4:1 first leg result was the difference as they were beaten in the return leg of that round of 16 fixture by Bright Stars 1:0. They progressed to the current round on the account of their first leg result. They could use the same strategy again today and work their way to the semis by scoring many goals in this encounter.
Wakiso Giants the hosts are in great form, as they have won four and drew one of their last five matches. This has taken them to the seventh position in the league with 36 points and only three below Police FC, their opponent today.
The two teams are without any major injury concerns and should be able to give us an entertaining encounter today as they compete at the Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium in Wakiso. My prediction is a 2:1 win at home for Wakiso Giants, because I believe they will be too strong for Police FC at their home.
