With relegation skyrocketing their blood pressure, Kyetume FC today hosted URA in one of the 3 remaining fixtures for game week 25 at the Nakisunga Grounds, Mukono. After yesterday’s matches, URA were displaced from the summit of the Uganda Premier League by Express FC who flogged Busoga United 4:0 to go top of the UPL table. And today the Tax Collectors traveled to Mukono looking to reclaim their first sport, but it didn’t go as they had expected. URA coach Sam Ssimbwa named a strong side to face the Mukono based boys, but in a tweak of things Kyetume set their team for today’s match in a very defensive way that frustrated the Tax Collectors all evening in Mukono.

The first period of the game ended 0:0 with no mind blowing attempts made by the URA boys in regards to trying to win the game going into halftime break.

At Nakisunga, the second half started with Kyetume FC belief uplifted by the good performances they put in the first period of the game. It was like playing a game of hide and seek for the Mukono boys who kept secretly attacking the Tax Collectors in the second period of the game.

With only 10 minutes remaining left in the game, Latif Kiyemba scored the historic goal that broke the hearts of the Tax Collectors in Mukono today. It was supposed to be a must-win encounter for them as they eyed top status in the league. But at full time in Mukono, it was the hosts that collected the maximum 3 points that sent them to 23 points and only 3 below Busoga United who occupy the 13th position in the league. URA on the other hand failed to climb back to the top of the league table where they shouldn’t have left in the first place, and with Express FC now brought into the mix, it will be interesting to see what happens at the end of the 2020/2021 season.
