Match day 18 of the Uganda Premier League was on today with the two title
favorite teams both in action against Bul FC and Kitara FC respectively. It was
something that many would argue to be just a routine win for the home side but
never say never in football, which is why we had to wait and confirm it after
90 minutes of normal play in Ndejje.
That match started with URA on the driving seat from the very beginning of
it all. Brian Majwega opened the barrenness in the 30th minutes
for URA to give them a 1:0 lead which lasted for only 3 minutes with Walter
Ochora equalizing in the 33rd minutes to restore Bul Fc back into
the game going into halftime beak.
The second half then started with URA playing with a very clear objective to
win the game at all cost. And it didn’t take them longer than they expected to
restore their advantage back as the inform Shafiq Kagimu scored in the 58th
minute to make it 2 : 1 for his team.To avoid what happened in the first
half, where Bul FC managed to find their way back into the game, Rwothomio
Cromwell scored the 3rd goal in the 74th minute to make
it 3:1 to URA. Despite all the time by Bul FC to get another second half goal,
the match ended 3 : 1 with URA taking the 3 points they needed to keep pressure
on Vipers Football Club who top the league on goal difference.
