A brace from Yunus Ssentamu and another goal from Paul Mucureezi were enough to hand Vipers a 3 : 0 win away at Kitara in Masindi to maintain their place at the top of the Uganda Premier League.
Vipers FC today visited Kitara FC at the Masindi Municipal Stadium, and the home team was looking to recover from their 2 : 1 away defeat to Onduparaka in Arua. But it wasn’t going to happen anytime soon, as their expectations were met with a ruthless assault from Vipers FC.
Striker Yunus Ssentamu started with the Masindi boys as early as the 33rd minutes to give the Venoms a 1 : 0 lead before the halftime whistle.
And after the halftime break, it was Ssentumu again who scored a beautiful penalty in the 64th minute to put his side 2 : 0 up.
Paul Mucureezi then made it 3 : 0 in the 73rd minute via a well struck free-kick to put the game away from the home team. The victory took Vipers to 42 points, same as URA who beat BUL 3 : 1 at the Arena of Visions in Luweero to also keep their title quest alive for this year’s UPL.
