The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has now fixed December 12 for the group stage draws of the Champions League and the Confederation Cup.
The draw ceremony for the group stage for both interclub competitions was initially slated for November 16, but CAF announced a postponement via its website, barely 25 hours before the event.
Meanwhile, as confirmed by the continent’s football governing body, the draws will now be held almost a month after the initial date.
“The group stage draw for the 2022/23 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup will be conducted on Monday, December 12, 2022, in Cairo, Egypt.
“The TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup will be live at 13h00 (11h00 GMT), followed by the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League at 14h00 (12h00 GMT).
“Both draws will be live on CAF digital platforms and also on CAF TV partners,” CAF wrote on its website.
With this development, it means Uganda Premier League side, SC Villa, who are Uganda’s sole representative at the group stages, will find out their group opponents on December 12.
