The volleyball clubs are planning to utilize Ndejje university Open Tournament as build ups ahead of the National Clubs Championship slated for September 3-4 in Iganga district hosted by Orange BlockBusters volleyball club.
The 10th Edition of the Ndejje University Volleyball Open Tournament is set to begin on 27th and 28th August 2022 at Ndejje University Main Campus.
Following victories over OBB by scores of 3-0 for the men and KCCA by scores of 3-0 for the women, the Ndejje University Sharks and Elites respectively are the reigning champions.
This competition, according to Muhumuza Wilfred Kato, Dean of Students at Ndejje University is a practice for clubs in anticipation of the forthcoming 2022 National Clubs championship.
“We encourage Clubs to turn up in big numbers because Ndejje University Volleyball Open will act as a dress rehearsal in preparation of the 2022 National Volleyball clubs Championships,” said Muhumuza Wilfred Kato.
He added, “We expect Ndejje University Sharks and Ndejje University Elites to perform well in the tournament because of the home advantage and of course the morale boosters are set to support their own.”
This year’s edition will include award of Certificates to all participating teams, trophies to finalists, cash prizes to the winners in club category.
And individual awards to the best players that is; Best Attacker, Best Blocker, Best Setter and Best Server in the club category.
Technical Meeting will be held on Thursday 25th August 2022, 6pm at Lugogo Sideline Bar and Restaurant.
