Bright Stars FC hosted Wakiso Giants FC in yet another fixture of the  Uganda Premier League.

After a very busy 14 days of football that saw both teams advance to the next round of the Stanbic Bank Uganda Cup, the two UPL teams turned to a game 17 tie that saw them pitted against each other once again for the scramble for vital league points.

The match started with the away team showing glimpses of good performances early in the game, as it only took Ivan Bogere only 3 minutes to put his team ahead in the opening half of the game.

The home team after going behind early in the game responded in the 15th minute to make it 1 : 1, through Samuel Ssekamatte.

Then in the 33rd minutes Joseph Janjali gave the home team a 2 : 1 lead going into halftime break.

After the restart, Wakiso Giants needed a quick response to level matters early in the second half, and the moment they were all looking for came in the 49th minute by way of a penalty kick. However, the spot kick was missed under unclear circumstances that saw a mele ensue with many players involved in an incident that consumed much game time.

Tempers settled and play was resumed. The search for goals continued but did not bear any fruit until the 75th minute when Joshua Lubwama equalized for Wakiso Giants to make it 2 : 2 with 15 minutes of normal play remaining.

At the end of the 90 minutes, 12 minutes was added to compensate for the time wasted during normal play with penalty incidences.

Ibrahim Kasinde then scored in the last minutes to deny Wakiso Giants FC a point in the game much to the anguish of the away team who were left rueing the missed penalty.

As it stands, both teams are above the relegation zone but with Wakiso Giants FC standing so close to the un-safe zone.
