Vipers Assistant coach, Marcelo Cardoso is optimistic about picking a positive performance as they face off with Olympic Real De Bangui of Central Africa Republic in the Preliminary round first leg of the CAF Champions League.

The assistant coach is optimistic that the results they picked during their preparation matches will help them perform well.

“The results we picked during our preparations showed clearly the level of Vipers at the moment,”

“We are ready to give a good performance as we want to attain a great result,” added the experienced tactician.

Marcelo adds that they are looking at qualifying for the next round which is the important thing for the club.

“We look forward to qualifying for the next round and that’s the most important thing for everyone involved.”  He added.

The Venoms were champions of the  Uganda Premier League last season when they finished the season with 74 points for their fifth title which paved the way to CAF Champions League.

The Venoms are visitors to Congo Brazaville to take on the Central African Republic side, at the Stade Alphonse Massamba Debat on Saturday.

Uganda’s representatives will miss  Halid Lwaliwa on the squad who joined North Macedonia side Bregalnica FC, Left back Aziz Kayondo joined Real Monarchs and Paul Mucureezi recently returned to training after suffering a foot fracture is still on the road to full recovery.
