The organizers of the West Nile Open in Arua have postponed the golf tournament which was meant to start next week 10th -12th June 2021 at the West Nile Golf Club. The organizers are yet to determine the new dates for the tournament.

“The management Of West Nile Club would like to announce that the tournament that was to take place from 10th – 12th June 2021 at West Nile Golf Club has been postponed due to Coronavirus situation in the country,” a statement read from the flier that was posted on social media.

It should be noted that a number of sports organizations have decided to postpone most of the sporting activities as the rise in Covid 19 numbers continues to hit the country hard.

Just two days back the Uganda Cricket Association decided to call off all cricket activities within the country which prompted the withdrawal of the Lady Cricket Cranes from the Kwibuka Memorial tournament in Kigali, Rwanda.

The West Nile Golf Club last held a golf tournament last month when it hosted the 2021 West Nile Golf Club Eid tournament where West Nile professional golfer Isa Dralegga was declared the winner after managing an overall net of 133 and winning count back.
