Nemo stars put their woes of search for $8,000 to facilitate their stay in Tunis behind to put an impressive performance against debutants MTC from Tanzania in their opening game of the African volleyball club championship.

A slow start saw Nemo stars lose their opening sets 15-25 and 22-25 respectively but an impressive comeback saw the stars regain control in the third and fourth sets.

The 3rd set ended 25-21 while the 4th set ended 25-11 all in favour of the Ugandans. 2-2 it ended but Nemo stars emerged winners in a thrilling encounter after the 5th set, winning 11-15.

MTC were making their debut appearance at the championship and their performance won them many admirers in Tunis.

Speaking after the game, Nemo Star’s 1st setter was quick to point out that the first game is always difficult. He said that “ Game one is always tricky, but I’m glad we now have to prepare better for the next games.”

The next fixture for the stars is against Tunisia’s Kalibia on Monday 19th April 2021.
