At MTN Omondi, Lugogo today KCCA FC hosted Vipers football club in a reverse fixture of the Uganda Premier. Vipers needed to collect all the maximum three points to help put pressure on the current league leaders URA, who played on Friday and moved to 50 points this season

The proceeding started with each team looking solid defensively, giving each other less space in the final third to score. Halftime ended goalless with both teams going to their respective tunnels for halftime break instructions from their various coaches.

But the second period started with Vipers looking more dangerous than they were in the first half. Striker Yunus Sentamu needed only 5 minutes after the start of the second half to put his team ahead in the 50th minute. After they have just finished celebrating their first goal, two minutes later Milton Karisa added the second goal in the 52nd minute to put the game away from the host with a 2:0 advantage.

KCCA needed to regroup themselves and start going again but this time from a losing position. It took them only 15 minutes to pull one back through Denis Iguma in the 66 minutes of the game. But with the Venoms having too much at stake to lose in this fixture, they needed to show good defensive attributes to try and put the game to bed.At full time whistle in Lugogo, it was Vipers who managed to win the game with a 2:1 scoreline to keep pressure off URA. This win also means that Vipers have done a league double over the Kasasiro Boys this season. They now moved to 49th points, only one below URA, whereas KCCA remains in position 4 on 37 points after losing two consecutive games in a row.
