The series, which spans multiple regions, is set to commence on June 29th at the Arusha Gymkhana Club, marking the beginning of an exciting journey across Tanzania’s most prestigious golf courses.

Expanding Horizons: A Regional Tour

The NCBA Golf Series is more than just a local tournament; it’s a regional tour that includes venues across both Tanzania Mainland and the Isles. After the initial event in Arusha, golfers will compete at the picturesque Zanzibar Sea Cliff course, followed by the final Tanzanian leg at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club. This geographical diversity not only showcases the beauty of Tanzania but also brings together golfers from various regions, fostering a sense of unity and competitive spirit.

The Importance of Every Stroke

Iman Alfayo, the series coordinator, emphasizes the critical nature of every stroke in golf, a sentiment encapsulated by the campaign slogan “Numbers That Matter.” Alfayo’s message is clear: precision and focus are paramount in golf. He urges golfers to register and participate, highlighting the opportunity the series provides for honing skills and competing at a high level.

A Look Back: Last Year’s Highlights

Reflecting on the inaugural event held on September 30th, 2023, at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club, the series was launched with much fanfare. The event showcased top-tier talent under the same “Numbers That Matter” campaign, underscoring the importance of each shot. The event was a resounding success, setting a high bar for this year’s series.

Competitive Spirit: Path to the Grand Finals

The NCBA Golf Series is designed to draw top talent from across Tanzania, with participants vying for the chance to represent their country in the grand finals in Kenya. This aspect adds a layer of prestige and excitement, as golfers are not just competing for local glory but for international recognition. The series thus serves as a critical stepping stone for Tanzanian golfers aspiring to make their mark on a larger stage.

Inclusive Competition

Alfayo’s call to action extends to both men and women golfers, encouraging widespread participation. The inclusive nature of the series ensures that talent from all demographics is showcased, providing a comprehensive view of the golfing landscape in Tanzania. With preparations in full swing, anticipation is building among the golfing community.

Leadership and Participation

The involvement of notable figures such as Claver Serumaga, Managing Director and CEO of NCBA Bank Tanzania, adds to the event’s prestige. Serumaga’s participation highlights the support from the corporate sector, which is crucial for the growth of sports like golf in Tanzania.

Celebrating Past Champions

His 76 strokes over 18 holes set a high standard, followed closely by Morogoro Gymkhana Club captain Seif Mcharo with 77 strokes.
