As the league approaches its conclusion, the battle for the top scorer accolade has intensified, with several prolific marksmen vying for the honor.

Currently, the top spot in the goal-scoring charts is held by Mohammed Shaban of KCCA FC, who has netted an impressive 16 goals so far this season. Shaban’s clinical finishing and ability to find the back of the net consistently have been key to KCCA FC’s success, and he will be looking to maintain his form in the final two games to secure the Golden Boot.

Waigona not giving up any time

Hot on Shaban’s heels is Isaac Waigona of Express Football Club, who has notched up 14 goals in the league so far. Waigona has been a consistent threat in front of goal for Express FC, showcasing his agility and goal-scoring instinct. With just a two-goal difference separating him from the top spot, Isaac will be determined to make a late surge for the Golden Boot. Shaban will face Wakiso Giants at MTN Omondi Stadium on Tuesday, 14 May 2024, before visiting Maroons FC in Luzira to climax the season.

Senkatuka and Omedi keeping a good fight

Nelson Senkatuka of Soltilo Brights Stars and Denis Omedi of Kitara FC scored 13 and 12 goals each respectively, not ruling them out of contention for the Golden Boot award. Omedi has been a revelation for Kitara FC this season, while Senkatuka has been a reliable goal scorer for Soltilo Brights Stars FC. Both players will be looking to capitalize on their goal-scoring form in the closing stages of the season to stake their claim for the coveted award. Omedi and Senkatuka will face each other on Tuesday, 14 May at Masindi Stadium before visiting Gaddafi FC and URA FC on the road respectively.

Amaku rides on last season’s form

Fred Amaku of Maroons FC, tied up with Denis Omedi is also in the mix with 12 goals to his name. Amaku has been a key figure for Maroons FC in front of goal, and he will be eager to add to his tally in the remaining matches to challenge for the Golden Boot honors. The prison warder will visit wounded UPDF FC on Tuesday, 14 May before hosting KCCA FC on 18th May at Luzira.
