In a thrilling encounter in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF PL), Kariobangi Sharks showcased their attacking prowess, led by the exceptional performance of John Mark Makwata, as they secured a convincing 5-2 victory over Sofapaka.

Makwata, the standout player of the match, stole the show by bagging an impressive four goals for his team. The striker wasted no time in making his mark on the game, opening the scoring with two clinical finishes in the 1st and 31st minutes, setting the tone for an eventful match.

Stephen Bwire extended Sharks’ lead with a well-taken goal in the 28th minute, showcasing the team’s potent attacking threat. Despite Sofapaka pulling one back through Onyango Jacob, Kariobangi Sharks remained in control as the first half ended with a 3-1 lead in their favor.

The second half saw both teams continue to fight for dominance, with Darius Msagha finding the net for Sofapaka to keep the game competitive. However, Makwata once again demonstrated his goal-scoring prowess, adding two more goals to his tally in the 63rd and 84th minutes, securing a well-deserved victory for Kariobangi Sharks.

The win means K’Ogalo have extended the lead at the top of KPL table to 63 points, Kenya Police FC and Tusker closely following behind, yet to play their round 29 matches.While on the other hand, the defeat leaves Shabana at a danger zone down the table – tied with Sofapka on 28 points placing the Kisii based team just one place above relegation zone.

With eyes on the golden boot, Omalla now takes his goals tally to 13, neck to neck with Police FC striker Tito Okello who also has 13 goals so far – the golden boot is for sure a tight one with just five matches to go.

Elsewhere, Bandari and Ulinzi Stars settled for a goalless draw against Posta Rangers and Muhoroni Youth, respectively, while Nzoia Sugar and KCB played out a 1-1 stalemate in closely contested matches.
