The game started with an explosive opening as Daniel Ojok of Northern Gateway SC broke the deadlock just 5 minutes into the first half, assisted by the skillful Jacob Adoko. The Gateway team continued their dominance by doubling the lead in the 38th minute, with Daniel Opio finding the back of the net, courtesy of an assist from Jacob Adoko, his second. However, Pajule Lions FC managed to pull one back in the added minutes of the first half, keeping the game exciting and unpredictable.

Despite the intense competition, neither team managed to score in the second half, maintaining the 2-1 lead for Northern Gateway SC until the final whistle blew. In the 2021/22 season, COVID-19 effects played to Northern Gateway SC advantage thus earning Big League promotion without facing a West Nile opponent. It should be noted that the two sides ain’t have faced off before, during the pre season to start the just concluded 3rd division leagues. However, they’ll be meeting for the first time in a competitive game.
